NOTE: IU's online intent to enroll site will be down for regular maintenance on Thursday, December 12, from 7 to 11 p.m. Bloomington is in the Eastern Time Zone and observes Daylight Saving Time.
Freshmen admitted for fall 2025
If you are a freshman admitted for fall 2025 and have made your decision regarding your fall enrollment, please let us know by completing the Intent to Enroll Form. To reserve your space in the class, you will also need to submit the $100 enrollment deposit by May 1, 2025. Please note that the deposit is nonrefundable and will be credited toward your first-semester tuition expenses.
- If you haven’t already, you will receive a printed acceptance letter as well as an information sheet that provides detailed instructions on how to enroll approximately 7–10 business days after your decision is made. Please read this information carefully. If you are an international student, you will receive your acceptance packet and visa documents after you indicate that you will attend IU.
- Make sure you set up your computer account. To do so, you will need your 10-digit University number, which is included in your acceptance letter. To set up your account, go to https://access.iu.edu/starterkit.
- If you are a new freshman, admitted for the fall term, you will need to pay a $100 enrollment deposit to hold your place in the class. This deposit is due by May 1 (or within three weeks of your acceptance date if you were accepted after May 1) and will be credited toward your first semester tuition expenses. Please note that enrollment deposits are non-refundable.
- Please Note: If you are a 21st Century Scholar or Balfour Scholar, or have been granted a fee waiver, you will not be prompted to pay the $100 enrollment deposit.
- You will need a credit card to pay your deposit online. The university accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
- If you need to reserve housing, you must pay the housing deposit and complete the online housing application/contract when available through the Office of Student Affairs website at https://housing.indiana.edu/.
Orientation: All students attending Indiana University Bloomington for the first time are required to attend New Student Orientation (NSO). There you will meet with an advisor, register for classes, and learn more about the support and resources available to you at IU. The Office of First Year Experience Programs (FYE) will send you information via email regarding NSO program and date options. Intercampus transfer students
Intercampus transfer students: You are not required to complete the Intent to Enroll Form or pay the enrollment deposit. See your steps to enroll.

Transfer students admitted for fall/spring or freshmen admitted for spring
If you are a transfer student admitted for fall or spring or a freshman admitted for spring, please let us know that you are coming by completing the Intent to Enroll Form. Here are few things to remember before logging in to our secure site:
- You should have received an email that provides additional instructions about how to enroll. Freshman applicants will also receive a printed letter and information sheet. Please read this information carefully.
- Make sure you set up your computer account. To do so, you will need your 10-digit University number, which is included in your acceptance letter. To set up your account, go to https://access.iu.edu/starterkit.

Hoosier Link students
If you have been admitted to the Hoosier Link program, please let us know that you are coming by completing the Intent to Enroll Form. Here are few things to remember before logging in to our secure site:
- You will not pay an enrollment deposit.
- Even though the IU Bloomington deadline is May 1, Hoosier Link students must complete the Intent to Enroll Form by May 15 (or within three weeks of your acceptance date if you were accepted after May 15).
- After completing the Intent to Enroll Form, you will receive an email with detailed information about your next steps.
- Make sure you set up your computer account. To do so, you will need your 10-digit University number, which is included in your Hoosier Link admission letter. To set up your account, go to https://access.iu.edu/starterkit.
- If you have questions about the Hoosier Link program, contact the Office of First Year Experience Programs at fye@indiana.edu or 812-855-4357.
